US Visa Photo (DS-160) — 2x2 inch, 600x600 px

The DS-160 / CEAC portal requires a square JPEG between 600x600 and 1200x1200 pixels, under 240 KB, in sRGB color, with your head filling 50-69% of the frame on a plain white background. The portal rejects photos without saying which rule failed — this checker shows you every check individually, fixes the format ones automatically, and tells you plainly when a problem needs a retake instead.

Questions

Why does the DS-160 portal keep rejecting my photo?+

Most failures are technical: file over 240 KB, iPhone photos saved in Display P3 color instead of sRGB, HEIC format instead of JPEG, or head size outside 50-69%. Our tool re-encodes to sRGB JPEG under 240 KB automatically and shows the head-height check live.

Can I use the same photo for my printed 2x2 visa photo?+

Yes. The paid bundle includes a 2x2 inch print-ready file at 300 DPI and a 4x6 sheet you can print at any pharmacy for about $0.39.
